Adam and Eve's Pets

Adam and Eve said, 'Lord, when we were in the garden, you walked with us every day. Now we do not see you any more. We are lonesome here, and it is difficult for us to remember how much you love us.'

And God said, I will create a companion for you that will be with you and who will be a reflection of my love for you, so that you will love me even when you cannot see me. Regardless of how selfish or childish or unlovable you may be, this new companion will accept you as you are and will love you as I do, in spite of yourselves.'

And God created a new animal to be a companion for Adam and Eve. And it was a good animal And God was pleased.

And the new animal was pleased to be with Adam and Eve and he wagged his tail

And Adam said, 'Lord, I have already named all the animals in the Kingdom and I cannot think of a name for this new animal.'

And God said, 'I have created this new animal to be a reflection of my love for you, his name will be a reflection of my own name, and you will call him DOG.'

And Dog lived with Adam and Eve and was a companion to them and loved them.
And they were comforted
And God was pleased.
And Dog was content and wagged his tail.

After a while, it came to pass that an angel came to the Lord and said, 'Lord, Adam and Eve have become filled with pride. They strut and preen like peacocks and they believe they are worthy of adoration. Dog has indeed taught them that they are loved, but perhaps too well.'

And God said, I will create for them a companion who will be with them and who will see them as they are. The companion will remind them of their limitations, so they will know that they are not always worthy of adoration.'

And God created CAT to be a companion to Adam and Eve.

And Cat would not obey them. And when Adam and Eve gazed into Cat's eyes, they were reminded that they were not the supreme beings.

And Adam and Eve learned humility.
And they were greatly improved.

And God was pleased . . . . .

And Dog was happy. . . . .

And Cat didn't give a care one way or other....

When did the dog get mixed in with my two cats? Annie, constantly hounds me for attention, and Zaphod follows me around like a dog, hoping I'll go to the treat jar, and fetch him some treats.

Hmmmm. I wonder where this Adam & Eve went wrong :eeek: We have 2 dogs, 5 cats and 2 birds!!!

True, 'dat!

Thanks, John!

Mike, I'll see your 2 dogs, 5 cats, and 2 birds, raise you 4 cats, a rabbit and 3 foster/adopted children!!

It just occurred to me that kids are the combination of dogs and cats - loving, loyal, happy to see you AND only want you on THIER terms and can just as easily ignore you as listen to you!! LOL

I've got a .45

:confuse:

Is that for the Cat?

Or maybe the dog?

Or dare I ask, Eve?

no cats or dogs around anymore....except for my neighbor's cat, Merrimack, who drops by on the occassional evening to spend the night in my garage - but, I've got no mice so....

A question from above... "Zaphod?" Hitchhiker's Guide?

Just two dogs here. Buddy, a terrier mix is tenacious when it comes to chasing the varmints. Luci, Luz- she a black border collie mix, is too smart. When going throught dog obedence thing she woul do the trick once or twice and then she was done. As if to say, "I did that, let's move on." T.T

The real problem with cats is that the ancient Egyptians treated them like gods, and the cats have never forgotten it.

Yep that's where his name came from.

Now, now, cats aren't all bad, they are great targets. When I lived up north there was a problem with feral cats. I learned that if you hit one with a .22 in just the right place they jump straight up about 6 feet and land with a splat.

This may have beenposted before, but seeing as this thread is on a British car forum, I think it is appropriate:

Only in Europe! I don't think American censors would ever let that one slip through.

This wasn't released to the general public and seems that it shouldn't have been done at all:

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:]However, some cynics have suggested that nothing "backfired," and Ford got exactly what it wanted — an effective "viral marketing" campaign that attracted a good deal of attention to their new SportKa model through the controversy it generated:

[O]ne advertising executive insisted that Ford was protesting too much. "No publicity is bad publicity and the cynical part of me thinks that this 'leaking' was intended all along," he said. "It's got them terrific media coverage, after all."
The alternative concept supposedly chosen by Ford — a clip that shows a SportKa's hood automatically flying open to deflect (and kill) a pigeon attempting to land on it — was found scarcely less offensive by animal rights groups.

For those concerned about the cat depicted in the SportKa clip, Ford maintains: "The action in the video clip was totally computer generated, and we would like to assure you that no animal was harmed in its making."

I have seen the pigeon get whacked ad....
