TR2/3/3A Accelerator Pedal Assembly ,TR 3A

Page 47, Plate T, of the StanParts catalog shows two pins holding item T17 to the accelerator rod and the actual pedal. I can find one but cannot find a second pin. So what holds it all together? If I pop that pin out will the pedal then slide off?

I need to get this done and onto the car before I go any further with my under dash stuff.

Thanks, Tinkerman

Tinkerman:

I don't have my parts book handy to look up what part T17 is. Looking in the Moss catalog, the bushing on the accelerator pedal shaft is shown to be held on by two pins, but my 1962 TR4 only has one.

Is this a different question from the one in your earlier post?

Thanks Matt, dummy here forgot all about that post. Yes I'm still asking the same question, so thanks for the reminder!

My pedal assembly is exactly the same as shown in the Stanpart book, however, I know that my buddies TR3B has the the type where there is only one pin, and not in as many sections as the earlier type. I don't remember exactly what problem he had assembling the whole thing, but I know he was ready to do something drastic. I tried calling him just now, but he wasn't home. I try again later if you don't get an answer.

Thanks Art, I got an answer to that question about a year ago, and forgot I had gotten an answer. DUHHHHH

Dick:
Without the two pins in item 17 the pedal rod in the cockpit would slide out. Both pins in item 17 are needed to tie the items 15 & 16 together. The other pin on your 3 might be at 90 degrees. Just checked on my TR2 and there are two pins side by side in item 17.

You really need to pick up the pace a little because I expect you to bring the 3 to TRA's 2010 National in Wooster, Ohio.

Thanks Lou, I'll keep that in mind!
