i have a 78 midget 1500 with su. i brought a new accelerator cable on ebay and from vb, both cables are to short by about 4". i was wondering if a cable from a B would fit. it needs to have the same fitting going thru engine compartment and attach to the carb. i have already wasted $40.00 on two cable, so i could sure use some input. thanks russ

Russ,
I'm not sure about a B cable, but I just use bicycle cables and cut them to length. Please explain what you are referring to when you say it needs to have the same fitting on the engine compartment side.

That's what I used also. I think it is a cable for a rear derailleur. You can get it at any bike store for a few bucks and cut it to length.

chrisS -the fitting i talking about is a stop for the outside of the cable. the outside slide into it and stop, allowing the inside to continue to the gas pedal. i guess it looks like a long nut without treads. i will look into the bike cable as i have all winter. last weekend in oct i put the cars away for winter. i want to say thanks i think the bike cable will be the ticket
