Acceleration issue

I have a slight acceleration problem with my TR4. If I am coasting in gear and then press the accelerator, the car pulls slight to the right. When I take my foot of the accelerator, it drifts slightly back to the left. Does anyone have any ideas?

All is appreciated.

........Cheers, Alex

Yes, I agree something in the suspension sounds like the culprit, I would check the rear suspension as well as the front, you may have some movement in the back you are unaware of when you are on the throttle.

When you brake, does everything appear to be working smoothly? On my TR4, I had some extra noise and pull on the passenger side. It turned out to be very worn bushes on the lower a-arm, along with a worn out inner tie rod.

Regards,
Randy

Alex,
Is one of the rear tires spinning faster that the other and putting out huge clouds of white smoke? If so that's not a problem. That's cool.

Sorry it's one of those days,

If you have an IRS (independent rear suspension) model then the chances are very high that the rubber bushings on the rear suspension need replacement.

Thanks everyone. I will look into the rear bushings.

Randy, I have no pulling problems when braking, maybe some noise. Also, I've noticed a vibration when turning right. Kinda of like when you drive over those rumble strips on the road, but no that aggressive a vibration.

Any thoughts??

............Cheers, Alex
