AC in an MG

MGA Steve....my MGA has a retractible soft top...where do you think I can find a factory removeable one?

Actually, the best way is to evacuate the entire system with the dryers in place and in many states, if not all, you are supposed to be a certified installer to recharge systems these days. I used to be an AC mechanic, but I've moved onto other things now.

Hey, I had 6 sets but now only have 2 that aren't spoken for! Except for the setup in my '74-1/2 GT & the setup in the restorable '74-1/2 GT I have for sale!

Tony, Regarding the comment on R12 vrs. R134A, I have been experimenting with "drop in" replacements ever since the price of 12 reached $60 a pound. Some of the earlier substitutes had some quirks because they were blended gases. Today there is a product that is available and works better than R12 or R134. Freeze 12 is a very good drop in for R12 and has none of the earlier handling problems. There is another new product that sounds just as good but I am still checking out in my own experience. Converting to 134 is no longer a requirment. Use of the lesser expensive R12s available is a little dicey since most of these are supplied from Mexico and the specification is questionable. Be glad to help you out in choosing the available refrigerant. Jack.

Hey, charging the system with the prper lubricant is a job for a professional garage...I'll take my '74-1/2 to them & they'll set it up with proper stuff!
