About those Andrex shocks??

I know a TD MKII should have them, but should they be on all 4 wheels?

I've searched this site and many other places and can only find mention that they were on the MKII's.

And were they used on any other make or model car? As in, where could a person find some if at all possible. I expect that will be 1 part of the resto that may not happen but I'd like to try and find some just to be correct.

They should be on all four corners. They were used on older MGs and many other pre-war and early post-war British cars. They aren't cheap but you can find them used now and then, or buy them new from Holden.

And is there a website for 'Holden'? Just curious on the cost.

I would have to assume there are various other bits to attach and connect said shocks. They don't show up on the parts diagrams I have so I guess a little more investigation is in order.

Regarding the regular shocks that are on the TD's. Are they indeed not available anymore either new or rebuilt? Or are they just not available at Moss Motors?
 
Thanks, that takes care of my concern with the regular shocks. I don't know how much this ole TD is going to need yet but I'm just getting my ducks in a row on where to get stuff. Moss has full suspension rebuild kits. have location for shock rebuild. The Andrex shocks are not critical but it would be nice to get the ole gal back to original. My goal with this car is to make a good driver though, not concerned with keeping it pristine.

Honestly my vision of the perfect TD would be the BRG (which this one is) with tan interior, wire wheel conversion kit (have been thinking of the painted rims in tan to match the interior trim and radiator grill) and just a pair of the little brooklands type wind screens instead of the windshield. That would look so classic IMO. but we'll see. I would not do anything irreversible for sure.
 
While you're there, browse through the rest of the stuff they offer. A good bit of early Lucas, should the need ever arise.

Holden has some nice stuff, but a little pricey considering the conversion factor and shipping fees from Australia. As a last resort, then you would have no choice. JMHO.PJ
 
The Holden link Jeff posted is a company in England, selling parts (and lots of 'em!).

Holden Australia is GM Australia. Car manufacturers.

Two different outfits.

Just to dampen any confusion.
