Just downloaded 31 of their movies and of course the very first one has the greatest skit -"Who's on First?"

I think anyone in the US of an older age, if asked "Who's on First", would know what it meant immediately.

Define older! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I have a ton of their old radio shows around here somewhere. Both me and my girlfriend grew up watching their movies on Sunday mornings. In the pre-cable days I guess the local stations must have done that. We're in our 30s - and we both know their material pretty well.

She's in a meeting right now, later I'll text-message her "WHO'S ON FIRST" and see what I get back!

You and me I guess.

Where did you get their radio shows?

I guess we "oldsters" got to grow up with them as a staple on the radio, in the movies and then on TV! I have a few of their movies!!! What a classic duo! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif

They float around. There's a lot of swapping of old radio show tapes and CDs. If you can't find a place to download them there's always the radio lady. I've ordered from her before - everything is good quality, but I suspect she gets her mp3s from usenet downloads like I do.

31 here. and can almost recite the entire "who's on first" skit by heart.
One of my favorite movies is "time of thier lives".
Abbot and Costello, the Marx Brothers, Jack Benny, Fred Allen the Three Stooges... and many others from radio and black and white. And later on up into the Smothers Brothers, Tom Lerher, and the like
It's a different comedy than modern, and it has an allure much like, well, like an old british sportscar.
Noone could give a comeback like Groucho.
They're not universally known anymore, but they're still enjoyed by all ages.
