Hiya All,

Ok,.so the last of my restoraton is just about done /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

New front and rear suspension, new exhaust, new weber,..and a new gas tank,..well,..almost a new gas tank.

I have gotten 2 defective tanks from Moss this week,..a third (hopefully not defective :p) is on the way for Monday. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The problem was a bad solder joint inside the tank,..causing an air leak in the pipe inside of the tank, essentially making it a straw with a hole in it. :p

The guys at Moss were very helpful, and assured me that they are working on the problem.

Nice to know what it was,..but it would've been nicer to get the car back into storage, before the big snow tomorrow /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Anyways,..just wanted to give a heads up to any potential gas tank buyers.

Cheers!

I buy my tanks from a place in Canada.

Prudent, Tony. I'll not go into full rant mode with regard to counterfeit SEAsian LBC parts, but: a piece as expensive as this to make and ship, from Moss (or others) ~SHOULD~ have been tested six ways from up before it ever left the outfit making it... At the price WE pay, whoever is retailing it should TEST the *second* one at least. I'd bet $$ every tank in the order Moss got has the same defect.

Tony,
Would you happen to have 1971 Midget tank or do you not recommend going with used?
Email or PM me. I would also like a battery tray for the same '71.

chefarosa, because I'm such a generous person, send me your snow and we won't have to worry about your B!

Also, might I please have a close up pic of your wheels if you have one? Thanks.

Minilites, superlites, panasports?

Along with everything else, wheels are 'in negotiation.'

Jerry, if I woke up and there were 15" of snow on the ground I would be blissfully happy. Our measurable snow this winter is about 1.3 inches total. And that's in 3 different snows. Pathetic.

15". Man, I can't remember the last time we had more than 4" or so at one time. Best snow I remember was in '82, got 29" here. Thundersnow. Was wickedly awesome.

Okay. Minators is a brand, if I remember right?

Hi Jerry,
I got a new tank from Moss about two years ago. It leaked. Moss agreed to let my local shop repair it & pay the bill for repairs. Saved a lot of time & shipping. It appears that nothing has changed in two years. They don't seem to be "working on the problem" seriously.

FWIW, I got mine 2 years ago from the Bee Hive...somewhere in the Carolinas I think. So far, so good. Jim.

Thanks Dave and Jim !

I guess that the third time IS a charm.

New tank works properly /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Now just to send the other two back :p

Cheers!
