Anywho, what are you and Mr. Racing Girl doing to that thing?

Well, that’s the million dollar question isn’t it? Apart from the fact that finding a 998cc in this country is next to impossible, and modifying the current 875cc would be very difficult due to it’s construction…. to be honest, I’m not sure! A pokier engine would be fantastic to have, especially on longer journeys on the freeway with our local car club – it would definitely make touring easier.
Part of the rationale behind it is that in our 16 years of ownership the engine/transaxle have never been out of the car, not that we have any reason to suspect it needs work either. With the engine out Mr RG will also be able to complete the upgrade of all the plumbing, there were some fittings he just couldn’t get to before. Also, the carbon release bearing is on it’s way out, and the only way to get to it was to drop the engine/trans, a little design flaw no doubt!
He leaves for England tomorrow night for a 10 day trip… his first port of call on landing is to Transimp, and he has spent a lot of time on Reg Pattens website in the last few days too. Maybe he’s planning on surprising me…. I *know* an Imp head will fit in his suitcase!
WRX engine! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/pukeface.gif There are a couple of VERY interesting bike engined G15's running around in the club in the UK, plus one with an Alfa engine in it too! Much more interesting.
