I diden't make "spitfidget" up. It's a long used term for the 1500 engine midget.

Is okay Ben. There's actually a 'rumpf I kind of like to LOOK at. Guy in our car club (go figure) has one. A 50something TR3 I think, TR3? 58-59 maybe?

My TR2 is essentially the same car as the TR3 you're talking about.
P.S. Just for the record, Even though my soft spot seems to lie with the TRs, I really enjoy all the LBCs. I have had a 77 MGB (my first drivable LBC) and have access to my dads 69"B" and have worked on several more, And I love them. I would jump at the chance for an MGA or especially a "T" series having drivin and worked on those too.
I enjoy the traditional rivalry, It's always good for a jab or two, but I would never take a serious side for one perticular marque. I have a feeling most of us are the same way. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

20 years ago I drove a TD as my "spare" whenever my TR3 was broken and I've always said that if you had the torquey-ness of my TR3 with the handling of the TD it would be darn-near perfect. I don't know if it really handles any better but it just is a kick in the pants when you can almost lift up a wheel in corners and not feel all squirrely like when the axle bottoms out in the 3. I just always felt bad for that little sewing-machine motor buzzing away at 65 miles per hour.
 
See, I KNEW IT! Called that one right....an MGA next to the TR3! Its gonna happen!
 
Steve - my 2006 GRM 1968 MGB GT has a 3.4 V6 out of a Camaro in it - & with all the weight reductions we've done to it, it only weighs 1700lbs!
