Good afternoon. My name is Nik Fialka. I'm a Navy pilot currently stationed
> in Pensacola, FL. I am the proud owner of a 1954 Austin A40 Somerset
> Convertible. My father bought her in the early 80s and began his restoration

> then deployed to Iraq. I'm home and getting ready to begin my graduate work.

Is this a 1954 Austin A40 Somerset Convertible?

I think so

I love them, they are just so British

Actually there are a fair number of them here in Canada, as I recall there were five or six A40 Somerset convertibles in the membership of the British Saloon Car Club of Canada, having said that... I have never seen one in person...

ex wife had an Austin Atlantic.

I love it.

This particular car is in bits and pieces. However, it sounds like very nice bits and pieces. The price is around $4K.

Have a nice day
Steve

Yes, they were once fairly common in Canada, my uncle in New Brunswick had a 4 door & I still can smell that interior. Delicous.

There sure IS something great about the smell of an old British car interior......glad I am not the ONLY one to think so!

Yes, Peter. That was circa 1960 I last rode in his Austin & I still remember it!

First car I drove was my other uncle's Hillman Minx (I still use a wrench he gave me to adjust the valves on my B. When I do, I'm taken back to Uncle Lorne's Hillman Minx).

I did some of my learner's permit driving on a Rover 2000TC

Any wonder I have this sickness?

Colin
