A Windows-7 Question

Offline
My new laptop has Windows-7.

My old laptop had Vista.

On Vista, I could <ctrl><Prtscreen> to do a screenshot and save it on the clipboard to paste to a different document.

With Windows-7, this does not work.

How do I take a screen shot for use in a different document with Windows-7????

Thanks in advance.

BTW....I've tried:

<ctrl><alt><prntscrn>

<ctrl><alt><shift><prntscrn>

<ctrl><prntscrn>

<prntscrn>

<shift><prntscrn>

<Ctrl><shift><prntscrn>

All any of these command do is send the screen to the bottom of the current page.

I use Snag-It on XP.
If 7 won't do it at all, I know there are other, free, screen shot programs out there. I use Snag-It as it came with the last computer, and I had the license code.

I didn't think anything changed. I use the print-screen button sometimes and it works fine. You can also use the "snipping tool" (start>programs>accessories>snipping-tool) to clip out sections and save them directly to a file.

Directions for both methods are here.

Nial has it (and is up earlier than me this AM :savewave: ). Win-7 is "improved" with the snip tool.

What keyboard are you using? A conventional keyboard shouldn't do that, but one that combines the print-screen key with another function might require you to also use an "Fn" key (or something similar).

So Rick ... are you saying that when you use the PrintScreen key in Windows 7, it doesn't copy the screen? and you can't paste (insert) into a new page?

Probelm solved! It is: <alt><FN><prntscr> !!!!!!!!!!!

My old laptop did not require the use of the <FN> key.
