A wierd observation

hey healeyists,

this may just be my imagination or the exhaust fumes. but when I push mhy clutch pedal down I can hear, very very faintly, the clutch spinning or something very similar. In all other respects the car shifts smooth and the clutch pedal feels amazing.I replaced the clutch and all the other stuff in there not more than 10,000 miles ago. Is this something that should worry me?

Also, I'm still in the infant stages of prepping for my restoration. I'll let you guys know.

The throwout bearing is pressing on the spring plate in the pressure plate when you press in the clutch. It will make a sound as the pressure plate rotates against it. As long as the clutch disconnects from the transmission (the car doesn't move when in gear and the clutch depressed), you're OK. Throw out bearings can wear out over a long time. The wear can be reduced by quickly shifting into neutral at a stop and letting out the clutch. Also, don't depress the clutch when starting. Start in neutral.

I would suggest that perhaps the clutch disk has worn and the rivets are lightly riding on the flywheel.-Fwiw--KEOKE
