A Triumph Issue I never heard of before

Remember only 1 square of toilet paper per "incident", don't want to turn this into a global warming issue.

I have resorted to a car cover for now. The crazy bird would get in the car and even after I opened the door thinking he was stuck inside , he would remain ... sitting on the seat looking out the back window, sitting on the mirror, dash, steering wheel. As for burning it down and buying a 6, I wanted a 6 when I first got the LBC urge but income prohibited my first wish but now, I am not sure I could give up the V8 rumble, but may add a 6 or a GT6 now i have my home paid off

I cured a pussycat from getting on the car by placing pieces of duct tape on the hood, trunk and top...sticky side up. Only had to do it one night... This method will probably kill a bird, so I can't recommend it. If you use it, please don't tell my lovely darling wife.
Good luck Bob

I'll have to remember that trick if I have trouble with cats again. The only place I have bird problems are with this one silly goose that enjoys the view from my roof. Those goose turds on my roof are just something I don't appreciate...

There is a Wal-Mart in town that has a massive seagull infestation problem. They installed several plastic "scare owls" along the top of the building.

It's done nothing to get rid of the seagulls, but it's cool to sometimes see seagulls perched on top of the fake owls' heads.

I had a woodpecker pecking the ventalation screen on my roof. Nearly drove me crazy. At first I thought it was neighborhood kids knocking on my door then running away. Finally I spotted the critter doing his or her dastardly deed. I instaled a motion sensor light and attached a buzzer to it on the eve of the house and pointed it directly at the vent. The woodpecker would approach this vent and the buzzer would sound, driving "Woody" away. After about two to three days of him/her attemting to approach the vent and getting scared by the light and buzzer he/she finally gave up and moved on to greener pastures. {Hopefuly NOT your Home} /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/lol.gif

Yellow bellied sapsuckers (woodpecker family), signal their territory during mating time by pecking loudly on resonating objects like metal gutters and gable vents. Guess your didn't get lucky around your house. Poor birdy was just horny.

How does an innocent thread like this turn into something about sex? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

I had a neighbor's cat that would sneak into my Triumph's bedroom at night and sleep on the seat. When I drained my radiator to pull the engine, I had the coolant sitting safely in a corner, waiting to be reused. The cat never showed up again. I SWEAR I didn't tell that cat to drink my antifreeze.

I don't think taking him for a ride will work. The little buggers find their way back from Florida every year. Unless maybe if you go west, far west.

We also have robins here {the red breasted feathered type} They are not to my knoledge much of a nuicense here tho. Here we have starlings and they along with the seagulls {Yea seagulls in Utah} are what crap on anything and everything.

My house is located between a couple of ponds that are home to several hundred canada geese. They bomb my driveway on a regular basis. They make a big mess on a small car.

An Unwelcome Guest

Could this be a Pennsylvania phenomenon?

We had lovely weather this past weekend. Low 80's and dry with a light breeze. I though it was the perfect day to take the TR250 out of hibernation, have a quick check out and go for a spin down the road. However, when I removed the car cover and popped the bonnet I had a bit of a surprise. Apparently, during the winter a family of field mice had taken up quarters under the windscreen wiper motor, devoured most of sunflower seeds my wife feeds her feathered friends, left the seed shells, feces and urine. Yuck! Oh well, no serious harm done and after a quick tidy up we were on our way.

Has this ever happened to you???

Re: An Unwelcome Guest

When I tore down my TR8 for restoration, I discovered a mouse nest above the clock in the corner of the dash. Cleaned all the hair/newspaper/twigs/flotsam/and whatnot out and removed the dash. Up in the wiring race at the base of the windshield were the remains of one of the critters - quite dried up, but still nasty. The car sure smells better now!
