A Tomfool with a Bugeye

I'm a programmer in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I've wanted a Bugeye Sprite for years, and when I found one in reasonable shape for a reasonable price I snapped it up -- despite living in a place where the ice doesn't melt off the roads 6 months out of the year.

I don't have a lot of experience with cars -- I bought the Sprite to learn -- but I'm an OK craftsman and can usually think my way out of a paper bag if the paper's thin enough.

Here it is the day I purchased it (swanky neighborhood!), from the most flattering angle:

The paint job is poorly done, there's plenty that broken or bodged together, and we snapped the left rear half-axle about 30 miles later -- but the body is solid, the engine purrs happily once it gets started -- and best of all, it's mine to make better!

Best wishes to you. And as Dave said, post your questions and experiences in the BCF Spridget (Sprite/Midget) forum here:
