Hey that engine photo was from the third old Brit
car I have encountered here on the island.
The Crypt Car plus two others. I saw this MG
dead on the side of the road, the afternoon after
the Crypt Car died and was pushed to the side of the
road.
3 Brit cars-- all spotted dead on the side of the road.
To me that represents 100% unreliabilty.
I stopped and tried to help the poor SOB but he had
not a single tool in his car. He has been running with
open throat carbs , (no air filters) and unhooks his gas
line when he starts the cars and pumps gas into the carbs,
then jumps inside and turns the key and pumps the gas
pedal like crazy.
I checked- his choke cables not not connected, his vaccuum
advance pipes are broken, his carbs filthy, his coil looks
original. Without tools there was little I could check out
other than all the wires at least being connected.
