Ok, in the past I've always done my newsletters just via email, or as a simple HTML page. Well, I finally gave a try at making a proper Newsletter that sort of looks like a newsletter. Check it out in the News Archive forum under the Announcements category.

I'll be sending a link out via email to all members, but posting it early to give you guys a preview. I'd like to know what you think. (Hopefully it will get better in future editions).

Basil

I can already see it on the newstands right next to all the other car magazines! Great job, Basil (&, yep, I'll give BCF a plug - oh, what about a banner hanging in my garage for the photo shoot?)

Very nice, Bas! "All the news that's fit to print"... And then some!

Excellent... if you add 15 pages of advertising, and a couple full page glossy's, you'd have a magazine - hehehehehe.

Good job. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Update - A "real" newsletter!

Ok, I knew I was forgetting something. I had intended to put a calendar that sumaraizes some key events that are in the online calendar here. Ok, I fixed that and have added one page to the newsletter. Now I think I'll be sending it out to the world.

Basil

Re: Update - A "real" newsletter!

Cool... I looked it over, but haven't read it yet... I'm gonna print it out at work tomorrow for more discrete reading opportunities /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Update - A "real" newsletter!

Gotta have the software, Janel

Re: Update - A "real" newsletter!

Who's got a link to Adobe reader?

Yeah I'm really lazy tonight - hehehehehe

Re: Update - A "real" newsletter!

I didn't realize there was anybody alive without Adobe!

Re: Update - A "real" newsletter!

I have it, but I figured for those who don't... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif And older versions can be corrupted easily.

Re: Update - A "real" newsletter!

When the Army called, one of the first things the did was update all the programs on my laptop so I could "talk" to their computers...even got a neat little memory stick so I can carry my hard drive with me to another computer!

Re: Update - A "real" newsletter!

Yeah, we've got about a dozen of those sticks here.

Re: Update - A "real" newsletter!

Pretty neat little gadgets...& they go anywhere. I never knew about them until recently..but, now, I'm always backing up on mine.

Re: Update - A "real" newsletter!

I have adobe Basil, in fact, just updated it to the newest version a few weeks ago. I do our club minutes in pdf. Very weird.

Re: Update - A "real" newsletter!

It should've gone to Adobe automatically to open the newsletter - at least it does on my laptop.

Re: Update - A "real" newsletter!

I just tried as well, same thing...I have adobe...but the screen just goes bank....maybe I didn't wait long enough for it to load?

Re: Update - A "real" newsletter!

Hey Basil... What car is that on the Calendar page?

Oh, and a suggestion for the next newsletter...

Mystery Car! We all love playing the mystery car game! Ton's more fun than a crossword (IMHO).
