Got the Bondo Buggy Re-assembled and Running again tonight. After drilling and re-tapping the Brake Light switch hole on the trans. (Always a last second curve ball to change your evening plans.) I swapped out the Trans that worked fine but was leaking everywhere. Steam cleaned an extra that someone had given me, Threw soem black rustoleum on it and re-sealed as much as I could. Also changed the top cover vent. Got her back together and took it for a spin. To my surprise the trans is silent! I am almost worried. I have never heard a 1500 trans that didnt growl in 1st.

Also mounted the wheels I re-painted with some new rubber. Starting to look good. Cant wait to get it on the highway!

Are you sure you remebered to put the transmission back in?

I need more info on the blanking plates you made for the front turn signal holes!!! Have been pondering doing the same, rather than trying to find rust-free 70-74 fenders. Details?

Looks like some kind of mesh riveted from the outside?
Did you use some kind of off the shelf material?

Oh - there was a box on my front porch when I got home...
Haven't opened it up yet, but there's only one thing that big that I expected today /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Blanking plates were chosen for a few reasons. Foremost being this was suppossed to be my parts car and I told my wife it wouldnt cost me much to get her road worthy for a while. Second I have an oil cooler on one side and small radiator on the other that needed some protection from rocks.

SO I wnet to Home Depot picked up a package of gutter gaurd mesh screens, Cut the approximatally the correct size, Primed and painted with Rustoleum Stainless Steel Paint, Clear hold up to back side, Rivet from Front Side. And WHALA!

Now I am searching for a sprite grille to replace that homeade grille that this car came with. (I Love what Youve done with Frank) and perhaps a set of Lucus Jaguar Round Turn signals to replace those $2 Marker lights and that May finish my front end.

Look at this one:
Midget grille

Oh, also take a look at my thread about the new exhaust unit.

have checked that one out however I would like something I can transfer to my Race car later and thats just to slow looking for me. I do love the silver grille look tho.
