I am sure this has been brought up before, but here is my delema. The original a post was thinned out and useless from the sill to the base of the top hinge. See pic....
To re-insall the new A-post Should I:
1. Remove the upper hinge and install the new complete a-post replacement. Attaching the door to the post to insure good gaps.
2. Cut off the the top of the replacement a-post at the level of the hinge and attach the door to the old top a post hinge to help get everything lined up.
3. Send the car to someone who has a clue and forget all your feble attempts at restoring this bugeye.
I'm making head way. I have the boot floor cut out and the placement panel is ready to go in (after replaceing the rear valence). The floors are finished, the battery box is done. I want this car done before it gets rainy here (about 3 months)
Thanks
Paul
