I just talked to an old friend of mine back in Ontario, first time in awhile... He owns some rather unusual British cars, this is a photo he sent me this morning, I'm not telling... :wink-new: Anyone know what they are? One car is a RHD...

And hopefully I'll see them in person this fall, planning to be in Ontario this September for a vacation, if I can save up enough money, and of course attend the gigantic British Car Day near Toronto...

Insiders knowledge, no fair...

It's a Lanchester LD10, my friend Tom just simply found it in the Muskoka region north of Toronto, likely the only one in North America, and few left worldwide... He tells me it now has an MGB engine for a little more power so he can actually drive it on the highway...
 
On that Lanchester, does it still have the 4-speed preselector self-changing gearbox and fluid flywheel? "Predecessor" of the automatic transmission - quite something in its day.

I'm not sure, would it work with an MGB engine?
 
I remember seeing one years ago - a Lanchester Leda as I recall. Also remember the Armstrong Siddeley Star Sapphire - knife-edge "saloon" in a showroom in Philadelphia. Very handsome car, like a Rolls or Bentley. Not many were sold here.
