I sent Betsy (Lee's wife) a short email - on behalf of all of us here.
Besty,
We don't know each other and I only knew Lee through the MG forums. But I wanted to tell you how terribly sorry we all are about Lee's death. Lee's posts and sense of humor and camaraderie were always welcome. And Lee was one of many that accepted me as an MG owner, regardless of the fact that I was a woman & knew little about the cars in the beginning.
His illness affected me a lot more than I can express. Odd because I barely knew him, other than his posts on British Car Forum and MG Addict. I suppose it was the 'unfairness' of it all. I sent him a few private messages reminding him that his entire MG 'family' were holding you all in their thoughts and prayers. He seemed upbeat and such a fighter. I hope the 'post' of good wishes from BCF brightened his day a bit and helped him realize so many people neither of you really knew cared.
I hope you and your family are holding up okay. I can only imagine how devastating this must be.
I know there's nothing I can do for you, other than to keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. And on behalf of British Car Forum and MG Addict, please accept our deepest, sincere sympathy. We'll continue to keep your family in our thoughts and prayers. "We" all lost a good one.
Deepest regards,
Janel & Chuck Demick
And the entire MG family
