Just a quick hi to everyone on the forum from a new member, living in Melbourne Australia. I've had a relationship with Morris Minors most of my life, have owned quite a few plus the occassional Austin etc etc. Well now I am looking at purchasing a 1947 Austin Sheerline A125 and Im looking for a "heads up" on anything that I should keep my eyes open for on inspection. I realise rust etc is one of the more relevant issues but anywhere in specific, any little secrets I need to know and any other information you feel may be appropriate.
I have very little info about this car at present except that it used to belong to one of the wealthy homestead owners of the area that I am visiting to inspect it. The exterior looks to be straight, the interior looks like the rats had a party and forgot to clean up after themselves. Anyway,if I buy it I will put pics up asap but wanting to go "fore warned is fore armed".Hope to hear from some well informed people, many thanks,Pete.

Ok,well that didn't work out, funny how the owner had forgotten to tell me that the shed that the car had been stored in collapsed and the rear half had sat out in the weather for quite some time without anyone realising, talk about rusty,I probably could have dealt with it but worse than that, the original sunroof had been welded up and parts missing so decided against the purchase,oh well, back to the drawing board.

Pete, Great to have you on the forum! Do you know Matthew Magilton from Victoria? He has a 55 TF among other things. PJ

Sorry it didn't work out but at least you looked before you bought. I hate deception. Welcome to the forum.

Welcome, and good luck in your search!
