Weirdly one of the yahoo accounts is superb at catching spam - the other not so much (and regularly sends 'real' emails to spam) - I still can't sort out why sonce you would presume the same filters from the same company.

That is odd. Wonder if the two accounts, although both Yahoo, reside in two different data centers with different anti-spam rules in place?
 
Just thinking ... if JP has one account for newsletters, and a separate account for ads, then the Yahoo algorithms would have to "adjust" to match the content.

One thing I like about my Apple mail is that I can use a feature called “hide my email” to register for different online services. I can have unique addresses for each think I register on. For example, I could create an account on some online retailer and use a randomly generated address that might look like: Prometheus_vault04:at:icloud.com (just made that up)

Any email sent to that address will get forwarded to my real iCloud account, and I’ll know where it came from. If I start getting spam to that address, I know the retailer in question must have shared my email. I can kill the random email account any time I want.
