Paul - that is quite a story - and film. Especially the guy's close-up still grasping the ripcord. Thanks for the link.

A couple weeks ago at the air museum, I got a request from a gentleman in California for info on the B-29 he flew in back in 1944-45: the "Limber Dugan 2", originally based in India for CIB work. I was able to find a photo of the plane and crew, and records of all the flights, plus a narrative by surviving crew members of the last flight where they were shot down over southern Japan, and the crew's rescue on Thanksgiving Day 1944. When they got back to a base in China, they expected a big turkey dinner.

Unfortunately they'd "lost a day" during the mission and rescue, and only got left overs.

Nice work Tom! I'll bet the rescue was much more important than the Turkey dinner though! :jester: PJ
