The biggest problem I have with a wine cellar is getting the wine to the cellar: I can't refrain from drinking good wine as soon as I buy it.

Also, my neighbors aid and abet my wine habits.

Tough to establish a wine cellar with empty bottles! :crazyeyes:
 
There'a a big difference between poor spelling and a deliberate pun, Tom.
 
Heck, I've got a lot of wine bottles in my wine cellar right next to the washer/dryer.... :lol:

The best thing about me getting a bottle of wine for my birthday was being able to rewrap it and give it away as a gift a couple of days later. Yech.

My girlfriend wanted to go to a winery/vineyard in Maine. She bought a bottle of something or other, and I tried to look interested. But then I hit paydirt and walked out with two handfuls of something really smooth and yummy. The owner of the place even had a cold bottle ready for tasting. We all enjoyed the tasting and well, he seemed more excited about my purchase than hers.

Sigh.

I Cracked up when the guy had a bottle out and wine glasses ready for the big "tasting". We got a 6-pack of the blueberry soda too.
 
I kept my beermaking equipment when I quit drinking last year for just that kind of drink. I gotta make up a batch of rootbeer. :laugh:
 
When I won 1st place in my class at the car show at the Williamsburg Winery this spring; the prize was a bottle of wine in a fancy leatherette/wood box. Will trade for a 12 pack of Labatt Blue anytime.....Ok, a 6 pack.
 
I live in the fingerlakes region, so wine is plentiful 'round here.... there's some good ones, but I partake rather sparingly. I may actually buy a bottle once or twice a year. I've won wine at car shows before (of course it was our clubs "brown bag" award for the "best loved" AKA biggest piece of junk, car)
I've got Beer brewing equipment as well. I just havent had the time to do that batch of root beer yet. Both Ithaca Beer and Saranac Beer bottle Birch, Root, and Ginger beers. I LOVE ginger beer.
That was the only thing I diden't like about Puerto Rico. There's not a drop of birch or root beer on the island! at least not that I found.....
 
Well in my opinion, Pollack Johnny's makes the best
..............sorry, I thought the thread was about
weiners. Had one in St Croix with a :thumbsup:root beer. Yummy.

The Mini club sponsors a trip to a winery. We drive for miles, have lunch, drive some more, taste the wine, drive more, have dinner and stay over night. Drive a bunch of miles the next day to get home. In some cases the wine is very good, other not so good. Or course it is the being with friends and enthusiats that make the trip worthwhile. I didn't realize that not only climate is important but the ground- minerals and other nutriants as well. In Arizona the southeastern part of the state duplicates the climate and ground of the Napa Valley.
We by a few bottles for special occaisions and gifts. T.T.

We have a couple of fairly popular wineries in Florida, and the one we went to in Maine has been up and running for several years. Big difference in climate and I'm sure the type of grape they're using.

I don't drink but I'm told the product from both wineries is very very good.

Go figure.
