A little ignition help needed

Ahhhh Success!!! Re-assembled everything and tested the compression. Got 145 to 150 psi accross all four cylinders. Much MUCH better than the sucking that was going on at the start of this adventure. Re-installed plugs, Dist cap, wires, fan valve cover and lit it off. The little beast fired right up with no hesitation. Runs quite well, howevere, when checking the timing with a timing light, the mark on the crank pulley is way off the timing indicater on the cover to the "After" TDC side. Guess I need to do some more tweaking but for now, IT'S RUNNING!!!!   I want to thank EVERYONE in this forum for providing all the suggestions the information is very very helpful. And great big special thanks to Don and Dave for your help!

I'll tip one back for you this week end to celebrate!

Thanks Don & Phil, If it was not for this forum I would be still scratching my head trying to figure out the problem. What really suprised me, was when I was done re-installing everything, I didn't have any spare parts left over except for the junk I replaced!!! That to me is a real sign of success
