I really don't like the way I have to run my gas line hoses since the weber carb inlet gas line is on the wrong side og the carb, makes since it should pull from the other side of carb. can I switch it to the other side? nipples appears to be pressed in.

I took this motor out of my Bugeye and installed into my Midget, and the gas line was run down under near the exhaust manifold on the Bugeye which I dislike more than this route. Really trying to find a route away from any heat source.

Whats the best fix?

2nd question: Is there a bracket that holds throttle cable straight.
I am thinking of making a little cable clamp on the bottom edge of fender gutter to secure cable so it keeps thottle cable striaght foing into carb bracket. something similiar to choke cable clamp. am I missing a piece?

Last question: this is a photo of my hood hinges on my 1967 Midget, the ones on ebay I have seen for sell don't look any thing like these. Whe ones on ebay look complicated,My hinges are bent and was thinking of replacing but cann't find ones that look like this. these are the same hinges that are on my Bugeye

Hinges changed about when roll up windows were put in Spridgets.

You'll need to pull the top off the carb and follow the instructions (brief) here:

https://www.opelgt.com/forums/aftermarket-down-draft-carbs/9988-weber-carb-boiling-over.html

"Another "trick" is to remove the carb top, drill out the fender side fuel inlet boss and thread it with a 1/8 NPT tap. Add a 1/8 NPT barbed fitting. Pull out the old inlet fitting, tap it and put a 1/8 NPT plug in. This allows you to route the fuel line so the line is not directly above the intake/exhaust manifolds. "

Just clean out all the chips before you re-assemble.

and be careful running the tap in. I've cracked stuff like that before.

Diffinately will remove top cover of carb and change inlet port to outside. thanks for all the information.

Any one have a fix for the throttle cable other than my idea of clamping cable to bottom of fender gutter? I just don't like cable wagging like a dogs tail

Yeah, that would be ruff ruff.

Couldn't you just put an elbow on the fuel inlet? That way it would point to the front of the car, which would be a little less awkward. But no drilling, with its concomitant risks.

Hood hinges BTW are the same as on Bugsy my '68 Sprite.

Correct the scissor hinge was introduced with the 3 wiper system in 70 ... I think
