Thanks JP for that advice.
A week ago, I just got the motor out and was starting to panic.
Today, the motor sits, freshly cleaned and painted with LOTS of new bits, next to its new gearbox.
A lot got accomplished this week, thanks to the Forum, my wife (for letting me have some 'stimulus' money) and Math professor (for being sick this week and canceling classes).
I really do appreciate the help in here guys.

BTW - what year is your midget? My Dad's midget had those same style ro-styles.
