A horse of a different color

I think I'm gonna puke.

How is this even possible? Talk about Frankencar, wow!

I'm at a loss for words. Just when you think you have seen it all. Not my cup of tea.

I don't know, as long as you don't think of it as a Sprite - Only wish he had got the hood line right and not tilting up. I'd be seen in it

He probably is the builder of this! At least he doesn't have to worry about rust, just termites! :jester:

Is that the new Harley?

I've seen a BE here that wasn'y salavagible as a true BE, but could have been made into this, so I support things like this as long as no whole BE were harmed in the process.

Kelly I like the idea, but not that car in pic.
I have a rusted out bugeye shell that I am going to build a rat rod out of. I have seen this car before and it was done differently than I plan on doing mine, example
1.Wide big back tires will be completly out of the body using a american v8 rear end.
2. Bonnet will be cut even with end of foot wells, then welded to cowl with a flat ol school firewall installed, this will give the body the look of older 30s car
3. Frame extended so engine is in front of firewall
4. Get rid of ugly front suspension and install t-bucket style on dropped straight axle with tires sitting way out from the body.
5. I want the car to look almost square with tires sittin way out, with thick wide tires, sitting low slight rake
6. fenderless

I am collecting parts now and trying to decide if I want the standard V-8 or a Datsun 240 drive train

240 will look too modern. I had a '40 BUick straight 8 that would have been perfect for that. If you go 6, I'd go Ford 300 and it'll move. There's always the flat head ford or even a 6. Lots of options, but I don't think a L24 would look right. What about an older Jag 6?

Hmmmm...it didn't look that bad to me; maybe my aesthetic values have expanded since being part of this crew!

I resemble that :grouphug:

Pat

I am a ford man and thought about a 300ci but Datsuns will go up to 7k RPM where the ford will be lucky to make 4K RPMs stock.

I probably will end up putting in a V-8..Just thought a nice long skinny engine would good up front exposed

Its ok but I want to take it into another spectum,
that Bugeye rod sort of reminds me of a farmall tractor

The 300 Ford will rev higher than that and it'll have enough torque you could run a 2.73 gear and it'll scream. I'll have to scan the old Hot Rod article in the " Complete Book of Engines" where they did a piston swap and put mechanical injection on a 300 in a '68 Mustang with a three speed and they said it would out pull a 428 CJ Stang.

A L24 w/ Su's might look o.k w/ the valve cover painted

I've toyed w/ the idea of using a tractor grill , hood and cowl to make a rat rod. I think someone already has.

I thought the ford and chevy sixes were slow turners unless you spent mega race bucks on them. I am basically gonna put a stock engine and dress it out. with chrome and pipes. this thing will be so light 200 hp will be dangerous enough in a car built from junk
