A Hawk in Slow Motion

Fascinating!

Sitting on the front porch of our cabin a while back, I just happened to see one swoop out of the trees and grab a chipmunk that was running across the gravel road about 40' away from where I was sitting. Little guy never had a chance!

I find birds absolutely amazing. I've had parrots, currently have a cockatoo. They can skin a grape or a cherry and eat it, crack open a peanut, peel the peanut and eat it just with their beaks. I have fingers, can use a knife, and I can't come close to that!!! LoL :laugh:
 
Awesome. Dave, thanks for posting the vid, what a show.

Some raptors have telescopic vision, also. A narrow band of specialized cells in their eyes that actually provide some magnification. Thus the ability to see prey from very far above.

Just amazing creatures. :yesnod:
