Saddened to hear about his death today, he will go down in history as one of the great business leaders of our time and of all-time... Gone far too young :frown:

The first computer I ever used was an Apple IIE, when I was in grade 8 in school, that was sure a long time ago, and computers sure have gotten way better...

Steve Jobs, 1955 - 2011.

Jobs was quoted as asking John Sculley this question when Apple was courting Sculley to be their next president:

<span style="font-style: italic">"do you want to sell sugar water for the rest of your life or do you want to come with me and change the world"</span>

I'd say Jobs and the team he put together managed to do just that.

Very infrequently is there one individual who influences the planet so profoundly as he has.

He and Woz are akin to Edison, Bell, Marconi. Stunning folk. Jobs is in good company.

Gave us Pixar too, as he was the one who bought it from George Lucas when it was still just rendering software and established it as an independent company. Lots of great stories and characters came from that work.

Mine was also a IIE, but I was (quite) a bit older.

He was a great one, and will be missed.

Steve jobs was basically the man responsible for putting a computer in the home.

he will be missed
