A Great Drive Home

I took the long way home from the VARA races this weekend. It was a beautiful day in the mountains! Just thought I'd share a couple photos from a short pit stop along the route. You can't ask for a better day of driving!

Very pretty!

Steve, your other MGs are going to get jealous of that new red interloper. It's all you seem to be driving these days. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

The other cars get plenty of exercise! I'm driving the CGT a lot lately because I'm still finishing up a complete suspension overhaul on the BGT and the '65 still has the engine out. The C will get some much deserved rest soon!

Steve, the road is even more amazing than it appears. If you ever get out my way, I would be happy to take you out for a spin. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I always forget to travel with my camera. That is an awesome shot Steve.

Stunning. Beautiful. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/yesnod.gif
The scenery is OK too I guess.

Oh to have such choices! Does look like a lovely place for a drive.

Vince, it never fails. Every time I leave my camera at home whether intentional or accidental, I regret it. I've made it a point to always bring a camera of some sort and my cell phone doesn't count!

Thanks Cliff. I plan to see Henry soon about swapping a set of seats.

Greg, Buttonwillow was fantastic! However there were a LOT of incidents. At least 2 dozen cars went off track, mainly in the last turn, and there were half a dozen really nasty crashes. A pre-war Miller took heavy damage after a run-in with a Lotus 11. A Fiat Abarth went completely airborne and rolled a couple times. An Alfa Romeo Duetto rolled completely over. Two Indy-style cars, in different races, were taken off the track on hooks. I can't remember the rest of the more minor incidents.

Also, the photos show the mountains north of Mt Pinos, above Maricopa.
