A good humored "snicker-snicker"!!
A long tale for cold winter nights:
I certainly enjoyed reading everyone's driving their LBCs
experiences, during the past 6 months that MY CAR was on
jackstands undergoing a 100% total fuel delivery system
replacement and 100% ignition system replacement.
What great summer driving photos everyone shared with me.
Here and there and maybe even 400 miles driven in a single weekend,
coffee in the morning, CAB at night. But I plugged
away on my dead TR6, purchased more parts, rebuilt this and
that, got gifted a few stunning components and finally my
car had four rubber wheels on the street, with a whole bunch
of help from so many kind friends here in BCF-land..
Very few BCF members keep track of their miles driven between
breakdowns. That's because, very few BCF members' cars breakdown
as often as mine does.
<span style="color: #000099">So for all you LBC snowbirds up north-
this friendly snicker snicker is for YOU!!!
I took Amos out for a three hour test drive this morning
and returned under TR6 power---------not a flatbed.
Today-Amos busted thru 1,700 miles driven without even a
hickup, belch or backfire fart. 1,700 miles Amos, (formerly
known as The Crypt Car) has driven without a breakdown.
Pulled into the garage under his own power now after
1700 miles of driving.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<,,
Jumped into Amos this morning for an early meeting (78*F)
and buzzed sawed my way thru traffic. Finished the meeting
and goosed it over to the marina to catch the local fishermen's
news (all lies anyway), stopped off for a bottle of merlot for
the Mrs for dinner.
Back on the Expresso and a stunning off-white Carrera honks
me and slides in beside me for maybe 2 miles. Thumbs up, high
fives and he then toots once more and is gone in a flash.
Next stop the pool supply store for a new vacuum head.
Cool- only $10.00 because it is defective and my "tool store on wheels"
can repair it. Sucker head made in China, Triumph made in England,
tools from Sears, Tinster from Philly.
Headed home now and a pretty lass with silver hair honks me
and slides her window down to chat at a traffic light.
With a big smile, she tells me she had a TR6 back in her younger days
and thinks Amos is quite handsome. Amos thought
the silver haired lass was looking sweet as well.
So, snowbirds-- a few hours of LBC experience for you to enjoy. Someone in
the grocery store told me it is snowing in New England. Is this true??
(snicker, snicker, snicker!)
