Well, I was able to get the driver's side bushings in OK. It took just over an hour to tear things down, then it took several tries - and three hours - to put it all together again, but I learned a lot along the way. The biggie was to use a partial spring compression to make moving the spring pan around easier, thereby making it easier to put the long, temporary bolts in place.

I have some ideas that might help make the passenger side go faster and, if they work, will pass it on. Right now am waiting for the weather to warm up a bit and also dry out, as I work in my carport and I am in no real hurry.

Glad it has worked out for you! This is one of those jobs that is easier if you have done it before, but by the time you do it again, you forget how /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Rubber bushings, but I would have gone for poly if I had known that my arms and trunnions were not worn.

I just found out what the Brits mean by "perished"! Do old rubber bushings always get this bad? Split, chewed up etc.

The passenger side still took an hour to strip down but only 2 hours to put all back. It would have been a bit quicker but my small , 2 ton, jack went belly up. Well, it was a bit of help, but wouldn't hold the pressure. I was using three jacks. A big, shop floor jack under the cross member for safety, a small floor jack under the spring pan and the 2 ton bottle to lift a corner here and a corner there. When it worked. Of course the car was on jack-stands, also.

Here are a couple of pix of the bushings on the right side. The ones on the left were in much better shape. The DPO must have done the left and chickened out on the right!
