A fine how-do-you-do......

Bummer, the season that brings out the best in most brings out the worst in a few. (the ones who make the news)

That's bad, unfortunately things like this usually have a link to someone who is inside. Sounds like the cash needs to head to a Bank ASAP after collection. In my area we even have Banks open on Sunday now.

Sacrilegious is all I can say. May their soles burn in a place where we don't want to go! OOPs! There I go being sadistic again! Oh well, that's me. :madder:

That's horrible.

We don't leave money in our church. Money gets walked down the street to 24-hour safe deposit box at a local bank soon after a service.
I've done it a number of times: it can be a bit nerve-racking but it's a short walk in a very public area.

Here in Ohio we have Concealed Carry Permits, the person(s) taking a deposit here can carry a gun for their personal protection. I don't have one myself, but if I carried large sums of money I would have a CC permit.

Same in PA.

Please tell me two of you walk together - not just for personal protection but so that you can never be accused. In all our churches 2 people at a time counting/ handling money is required - for their own protection.

and the rest of their shoes too

Our church has been broken into so many times that we now have a full blown alarm system. Seems to be some of the kids (or their friends) who go there for after school activities since they usually break into the "Nintendo" closet and steal all of the computer type games each time.

More than two always. And there is generally a police office within sight.
If there is an especially large sum (after a holiday service), the police are notified so they will take extra notice.
Our town is quite safe, but we still don't take chances.

Well, the man turned himself in. He also confessed to the robbery at Our Church at Easter. He will face justice in the legal system, but I will just say a prayer for someone in a situation or with problems, social, financial or mental, enough to drive them to do something like that. It makes me count my blessings for all I have.
Story here...

I have a 9mm Tanfoglio Witness. If I'm robbed, my plan is to Witness to the robber till he meets Jesus.

There'd be only an ~attempted~ robbery...

A few 9 mil kurz ones here. Two in stainless. And no victims.

And Ohio is a reciprocity state, too.

On the other hand he did turn himself in so something (or someone) was working on him
