A few Years in Between

I've been planning this for 30 years at least. It had to have all the pieces in place to make it work, but yesterday, my wife and I took the Healey back to the University of California, Santa Barbara and replicated a photo taken of us in 1963 by our college friend Alanna Brown. As you can see the trees have grown a bit and other things also, but the excitement for the future is still as bright as it was when we were college kids. Same spot, same car, same couple. Just 55 years in between.

I wondered how you got the trees there. Just took a few years. Very Nice.

I am impressed! At forty (40) years, the Healey marks my longest relationship__by double__with any person or place of residence (California was crossed of the list 3 states ago ;) ).

Keep up the good work!!

WQW :
Even the coves on the old car turned white_____LOL

But that sure is COOL.

Hats appropriately tipped to the couple and the car. If I had taken a similar photo of my wife and me in college the car would have been my Simca 1000. Not at all cool in 1970 and questionable today.

Congratulations! What a wonderful way to celebrate! And the smiles...you know you could stay on-campus during summer semester for that dormitory experience! UCSB is also my almamater. Go Gauchos!

I walked through my old dorm and I must say they have done a fabulous job of keeping it fresh and new looking. There was a high school conference going on and the kids looked a youthful, full of excitement and ready to take on the challenges before them. I have nothing but confidence that they will improve the things we've screwed up and that our nation is in good hands.
As much as I enjoyed my college experience, I certainly wouldn't want to start again now. Today's kids are just too smart and accomplished, and lets face it, there just so much more to learn than when I was in school.:emmersed:

Go Gauchos!!

That's very cool! Probably a dumb question (I'm not very versed in Healey) but is that the same car just repainted?

Basil, yep the same car. I bought it in July 1963 and took off for college thinking life would never get better than that. I've driven it the entire time since then except about 10 years in the mid 70's. I did a total restoration finishing in 2016. From now on, it's Drive and enjoy. Tonight I took t tho the local cruise night. Everyone loves a Healey.

Congradulations on both keeping the Healey and your wife for 55 years, great picture. We're on 30/25 this year.
