Got a few shots posted from my trip down south (before I wound up in the emergency room). A great camping spot, the secret spot of a good friend of mine. One pic attached, the rest are up on my site (under Green River 2006).

Stomach issues. See this thread for the story.

Southern Utah is great. I'm spending thanksgiving in Moab this year. Turkey sandwiches and slickrock its going to be a blast.

Kinda looks like Canyon De Chelly. Then again most of those canyon areas look the same!

True, but the Grand Canyon was a most impressive hole in the ground.

Some very impressive country, Bryce Canyon was spectacular too.

My wife was most impressed by the trip from there to Grand Junction in Colorado- the sign about no services for the next 130 miles wasn't the sort of thing she ever saw in Britain.

And the warnings about the rattlesnakes in the roadside toilets did bother her a bit. 'Course I told her not to worry 'bout the snakes 'cause she could scare them off- it was the scorpions and tarantulas.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif She didn't get out of the car until Denver.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Where we were camping, it was quite possible that we were the only people for 30 miles in any direction. A wonderful feeling.

Hi, Sorry to drag up an old thread, But I had to add that we did a bit of desert running last weekend as well. [image]

Truly one of the best places on earth. Looks like y'all were having a good time down there. Snowed up here, so you didn't miss much.

Nice pair of Cruisers, too. Makes me miss the FJ-40 I had 10 years ago.

We did have a nice group, 16 total all Landcruisers of different vintage, I also have a FJ40 in more parts than my Triumph in the garage....But that is coming along quicker.

I really miss my FJ40, but the one I had was suffering from rust pretty much everywhere. Might have to track down another one some day...
