"A Deluxe" Find
Hi MG owners --
I've been a long time poster on BCF, but this is my first post on the MG board. All my posts previous to date have been on the Triumph side, as I started a TR3 resto in 2004 and recently concluded it.
However, I recently acquired a MGA Deluxe MKII from a friend's father who no longer wanted to consider restoring it. The car is real deluxe complete with steel knock-off's and 4 wheel disk brakes, and for a restorable car, is in great shape. I believe it was pulled off the road in 1974 and was sitting in storage ever since. The lower sills are rusted out, but those seems on the easy side to replace. The fenders and body tub are in excellent shape and the car is pretty complete.
My question concerns the brakes -- are there parts available for the brakes / master cylinders? Are there any restoration issues particular to Deluxes (and I suppose Twin Cam cars, less the matters particular to the engine) that don't apply to standard models? Thanks for your input!
