The legend of the Crypt Car was so great that TWO tow trucks were called in....just in case.
 
Even a roadside tec call was of no avail. Of course I never did have a lot of luck getting things going instantly over long distances. We did come up with a plan of attack, but it needed to wait till Dale was safely out of rush hour traffic and could check things over.
Other than that It's Dales story and I'm sworn to secrecy. All I can say is "Lemonade!"
The crypt car is one of the only objects I've ever come close to actually beliving may be demon possesed.

<span style="color: #990000">Must be Ben but Father Mickey has personally "laid hands"
on the Crypt Car and that alone should have rid the demons of DPO Pedro.

Yupper, a $250 flatbed tow back home with a stop for a tall, cool
lemonade. The legendary saga of The Crypt Car continues. I just
wish I was a little more Smart about automotive things.

Crypty's broke down- acting naturally.

Edit: We spent the night at "The Nuthouse" and
Basil was in fine form!!

The TR6 was running just great the day before.
I The car engine fired up immediately, I let it warm up,
and was on the expressway entrance ramp, 3/8 miles from
home, when the car suddenly staggered to the side of the road.

In the shoulder, the car would spin (in neutral) to 4000+
rpms, hold there for maybe 20 seconds and then sputter,
lose rpms, backfire and die.

Wait a minute or two, the car started, reved easily to 4000+
etc, etc. died. A 3/4 full tank. Drove the car about 70 miles
the day before, ran great up to 75 MPH, parked in the garage.
Next morning an easy start- 3/8 miles and it broke down.
$250. tow charge.

It certainly puzzles me how these Triumphs can run so good
one day and then breakdown the very next day- with nothing
at all different except some component failed overnight.

Almost every part of my car is brand new or professionally
rebuilt. How do components fail, while parked in my garage
overnight? Were Triumphs always like this, when new?
Are constant breakdowns the reason they stopped making
Triumphs? Basic engineering flaws throughout the vehicle?

How did the fuel flow look through the clear canister you have on top of the engine?
