Well, after living in the same small house with a small lot and a single car garage in Oakville Ontario for 47 years, I finally had enough, and, moved out to the country.
I'm now on 8 acres, in about the exact center of the Niagara Peninsula. I have a 1K Rally Stage for a driveway, 1385 feet of the Welland River on one side, and, a Pig farmer on the other side.
Welland River.

Well, by now, you are all probably wondering where this tale is heading. As it turns out, there is also a shed on the property. A 3600sq ft shed.
Here's the shed.

When I lived in Oakville, I didn't have room to turn around, having 1 MGA and 2 Minis in my single car garage, so, not too much work got done British car wise. Now, I'm out in the country with a Big @#$ shed, and, some spare time on my hands, things are starting to change.
And, now, on to the reason for this post. About six months before I bought this place, I stumbled across an add for a 70 Austin 1800 MKII, in pieces, with the engine apart, but, freshly bored, re ground crank, new pistons mounted on refreshed rods, top and bottom gasket sets, and, a bunch of spare parts. Went out to see it (South of Cambridge ON), and, it was tired looking (aren't they all), but, looked not too rusty.
Anyway, I struck a deal to buy it, and, the seller agreed to keep it stored for me till I got moved in to the new digs. About 8 months later he dragged it out. That was about 3 years ago. Since that time, I have been pretty busy beating the new property into some semblance of shape, and, having some success in that regard.
So, last week, I dug Crabby out of the gloom of the back end of the shed, and did some assessment to see where I was going to go with this project. Here are some pics of it basically as delivered. I had already puttered a bit on it, and, removed the headlights and grill, and, started digging on the passenger side front fender (replaced at one time, and, rather badly repaired).
Crabby, basically as delivered.

There wasn't much left in the engine compartment, and, I'm going to take everything that's left out, scrub it out, and, repaint before dropping in the freshly rebuilt motor. Taking lots of pics, and, from these next ones, you can see the car is pretty clean rust wise.

Well, you can all see it's in that awful baby puke brown Leyland had the bad sense to offer the motoring public. Guess what, I feel a colour change coming on. Right now, Wimbledon White is in the running (leading the pack actually), any other choices from the peanut gallery will be considered.
Hope to keep this going as a build log, and, will try and keep up on a fairly regular basis with lots more pics and, witty commentary.
