The brown machine is the Wulf, a one-off prototype for Norton, with a two-stroke stepped-piston engine. The black bike is the Norton 76, once again, a prototype and unque. Based on the 850cc Commando, this was updated with Paoli forks, Brembo disc brakes, and SU carburettor mounted vertically (!) and cast alloy wheels. The tank was redesigned and slimmed-down. The third photo is of my dad with the Wulf at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham.

I remember seeing them in the museum-thanks for sharing the rest of the story! I need to go visit there again, it is an incredible place.

The bikes are both owned by Peter Hooper, the son of my dad's late business partner, Bernard Hooper and may not be at the museum any longer. Might be worth checking with the museum.

Nice & clean designs - all Norton 850's should be Black!
