We had an advertising sign at AutoZone for a long time that featured a '73 MGB. I wanted to get it when it was ever changed out.....but that changed it while I was on vacation one week
If I saw that Schick ad, I would befriend the manager and have him commit to giving me the sign instead of trashing it!!! And if it took regular "meetings," so be it.
Several years ago a clothing store at one of the local malls had a huge stylized Union Jack as part of their window display. Thinking it would look pretty awesome on my garage wall, I talked to the manager about obtaining it once they changed the display...even offering to buy it. No luck. They were required to destroy the entire display when it was due to be changed - even though it didn't have any brand names or logos on it.
