O.K, 35ft (X9') frieght trailer, semi insulated-came with 1/2" plywood b/w the wall braces (old Coke trailer). Trailer faces E-W semi shaded (80-90%) depending. Current 5000 btu a/c is in the middle of the completely shaded north wall. Tarp and parachute hung in middle of trailer to divide areas and help a/c when only using half of the trailer (divides saw side to keep dust contained). I put in a 8000 in the same spot and it did a good job keepong both halves comfortable most of the 85 degree day. Started at 81 inside in the morning, droppped down to 70 and got up to 76 by 3:30. I spray the roof down woth a hose from time to time (it has plywood inside too). I bought a 12000 btu cause the 8000 would have trouble on a 95-97 degree day.
So... the question is, put the 12000 unit in the middle of the north wall where the other on was (blows on opposite wall which gets sun from time to time) OR...leave the 5000 unit where it is and put the 12000 in the east end of the trailer (truck end, does get direct sun but only from 9-12).
I figure the 12000 blowing straight down the mIddle of the trailer would be better and I couls still use the 5000 on milder days or once the big one cools things off a bit.
How does this sound?
