No snow in Alabama...but I remember my Polaris 440 was several thousand back in the '80's!! I'll be interested in it if we buy a place in Alaska this summer....

Listen, were I still living in Alaska, I'd buy that in a heartbeat!! Hey, if its still available when I get to Anchorage, I'm gonna look him up! & if we do buy a cabin in Homer, Alaska, it'd be perfect...when we lived in Alaska before we had a great snowmobile & this would be ever better!
 
I wouldn't mind giving this one a go, not sure if it was made for snow though. Still, my son, James thought it was the coolest car on show....

Actually I believe there is a company (I think Japanese?) that can convert any road vehicle to tracks like that. Although I think they almost always use SUV's, and they also use tracks that are about the size of the original tires.

My understanding is that the company in question just converts the wheels and axles, keeping the engine and everything else intact as is. Although I wonder what else might need to be converted with perhaps the transmission to run tracks like that.
