A box of air

Had a 10x8x6" box delivered yesterday. The Fed Ex guy quipped "Got a box of air for ya!" (the box was light as a feather considering it's size). Upon opening, the box was filled with those puffy little packing bags. Turns out this box with all the packing contained just a single SD card I had ordered for a new camera. Well, I can't complain that they didn't pack it sufficiently!

I wonder if the workers on the conveyor belts get paid more for packing "big" boxes.

Amazon do the same thing, i have had a pack of 5 hacksaw blades delivered in a similar sizes box.
I think it is something to do with the way the vans are loaded, boxes of the same size stack better than boxes of all different sizes,

The wife got a package from our son and his wife a couple of days ago and in it was a gift card for a lady's store she likes! The box was 12X12 full of airbags! Who thinks of this stuff? It could have been sent in an envelope. It was mailed by the store. :rolleyes2:

Today, my order of three jars of chutney arrived from Amazon.
Each jar was wrapped in two layers of bubble and then put snugly in a box.
The three boxes were packed tightly inside another carton without an inch of air space.
Can't complain or comment about that.
Other times I got little items in large boxes with lots of bubbles or bags.

Just got a very large box today from Kohls. I had ordered a Pizza Crisper pan, which is not that big. I didn't think this big box could be that. It was.
