A bit more teardown

Drew:

I will send you a PM tonight.

Feel better my friend.

Patrick

Drew:

I PM'ed you, but it is not showing in my sent items, if you didn't get please let me know.

Patrick

I got it. Thanks.

A new pipe may come with a new flange. Mine did. Doesn't hurt to hold on to one. I'm glad I had an extra one. The new flange mount holes wouldn't go over the manifold studs. I wound up getting the die grinder and ovaling out the holes a bit to get it on.

np, my friend

also sent to your web site page.

hate being too tardy,

but I don't think it is in your "application guidelines".

keep the questions coming,

Patrick

It'll be a little while before I have more questions--I need time to get the engine out of the Midget and take stock of my financial options.

I'd think long and hard about using that 3.9 instead of the 4.55 that came in the Bugeye, you'll have a much better cruiser, with 4.55 you'll have a screamer

Hap, he is in a very hilly area.Patrick

I hope so, because with a 4.55 in 1275 car it's going to be tapped out pretty quickly and at 70 mph it's going to be screaming like a baby. I'd still go with the 3.9, you can always downshift on a hill.

Where he is they not hills, they Mountains. Up in the hills of Utah somewhere.

Mountains up here (Midway, Utah, 5550' elevation, pass roads go up to 9k or 10k depending, my office is at about 7k).

Bugeyes have a 4.22 rear, right? I'll probably keep it in for now and see how it works with the 1275. A friend of mine in the local club has offered some storage space for the Midget tub if I need it, so I don't feel quite as pressured to make decisions just yet. I'll get the engine and transmission out, and then see what I feel like doing.

Which Bugeyes came with a 4.55? I thought they were all 4.22.
