Gonna build a bench finally here.
Tired of not having one
Got some spiffy plans off the net
To you all what's a must?

Wine cabinet.

DOH, Never would have thought of that!!

You're welcome!

Now I'm gonna need a cooler built in as because of the long season, I drink a lot of Rose now

A top made of 24" x 96" X 1½" plywood (1 sheet of ¾" ply split lengthwise and doubled) or a suitably-sized solid core interior door covered completely with 16 or 14 gauge sheet steel held in place with countersunk flathead screws around the edges. The top overhangs the bench by 4 inches front and sides if the bench backs against a wall. 8 feet of 1/8" x 3" flat steel screwed to underside of front overhang to protect underside of top from damage when C-clamps are used to secure work to top of bench. Two steel, 4-recepticle boxes surface-mounted to the front rail of the bench under the top, 18" from each end of the bench. The frame of the bench is made of suitably-sized lumber to give the bench mass and weight.

A nice padded top to sit on.

Sturdy enough for the vise, good working height... bottle opener on one of the legs.

I do all my woodworking with power tools, forget the hand stuff.
