A bad time for a nap

The fact they would even allow that position to only be Manned by one person is scary! HELLO? What if the only guy there had a medical emergency? Geez, this is dumb on many levels!

Yeah I know, here in Canada they require two adults on any overnight shift at a convenience store (for obvious safety reasons), yet only one air traffic controller? At any time of the day? Not good... It sounds like some change is going to happen now anyway after this...

So far the change is only at that airport......
I wonder what will happen at the other 29 airports with one person manning the area. !!!
lets hope there are all small airports.

It shouldn't have happened, but all procedural and possible legal issues aside - this is so not a big deal. From the tape I heard, Potomac Approach (I think) told them they couldn't raise the tower on the phone and recommended they treat DCA as if the tower were closed and it was an uncontrolled airport - which is what they did.

Didn't realize that was DCA that happened art. Fly in there a couple times a year
