A B on Jack Stands.

Going to get 5 x tires and tubes today.....
My jack stands have the little 'cutout' so they snuggly fit an axle. No preoblem on the rear end.
On the front however, can I set these type stands on the A frame? It's a big A frame, is front beam better than the rear beam?
That being said, should I do jack the rear up first, then front, or vice versa?
TIA!
PS It'll only be sitting 4 hours or so until I get the wheels and tires back, so nothing permanent.

Stick them under the front spring pan & don't worry about it - put 'em under the rails right before they turn upwards....hook em in the holes in the suspension beam....anywhere where the weight of the car will hold 'em from sliding is fine.

I agree with Tony, just lower your jack slowly to be safe. Don't need to hear any bad stories from Illinois this weekend.
Btw Tony, do you sell parts to Canada? I need a few things for my "B"
Thanks Dave

Dave - I do...send me a PM

Other than the Illini blowing a 15 point lead to lose to Virginia Tech last nite.

Is easy to use what ever works, put a peice of board on the top of the jack stands to protect the metal and paint. I always use the horns for the jack stands and the cross brace for the jack.

It's up, looks about as sturdy as a drunk stork, but I don't think she's moving.
Tires won't be ready until monday, shoulda guessed, and I discovered a monstrous PO blunder regarding the brake rotors that will no doubt consume my afternoon, and yet unknown $ from my wallet. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wall.gif
Thanks for the tips! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

Barry, any mail yet? The package should get there today, unless the Post Office lied to me! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
Thread hijack concluded.

Seriously Cam, Jeff very kindly provided a 5-point harness, and I needed a couple of eye bolts......
.....but don't worry, a great deal more will be purchased from there over the coming months for the BGT.

Both of my friends got their harnesses there as well. Me and my buddies will often take a trip down to Summit after school, as it's only an hour or so away. I've even gotten a couple of shiny bits for the B from there. If you ever have the chance to visit, do it! One of the employees has a British Racing Green '73-'74 BGT with white racing stripes.
