I cleaned up the oil cap tonight, A few questions...

  1. Are the indentations 180 degrees apart normal? or is mine damaged?
  2. What was the original finish? I couldn't tell if it was black paint or just really dirty.
  3. What was the gasket?

Thanks

They were orgianlly white zinc plated, the new replacment are white zinc palted as well, I'm pretty sure thay had a wire tether on them as well.

Ray,

Thanks for the pic. I googled Kingsborne and got very little. After looking at mine closer, it looks like someone mashed the dents in with pliers in an attempt to make it fit tighter, it is currently loose because the gasket is gone.

Hap,

Mine had a wire but was frayed, who sells the metal replacement? Moss has them listed but no pic.
